The unreleased Burma Rapport

Part of not yet shown photos from my photo-project "Burma comes to Thailand". About the immigration issue on the border between Burma and Thailand. Most of these photos are snapshots and have no real story behind them, except they show people in their everyday life on the border. All captures are from the Mae Sot/Mae Sariang - Myawaddy area.

The temple

Early morning in Mae Sai, Thailand. And the monks have already been awake for hours. Just the sound of birds singing and a few hurrying footsteps towards the opening border to Burma. All is quiet.

Temple on a giant crocodile statue, Myawaddy, Burma

The temple is also a reciving point for UN's World food program. Only the monks in the temple are the only ones who have permission (2006) to give food to the Bangladesh and Internal Burmese refugees who live in small huts behind the temple.
